It also abbreviated as the CS. It’s a first person shooter video originated from half life modification by Minh Gooseman Le and Jess Cliffe. The game has been released as a series includes Counter- Strike: Condition Zero, Counter- Strike: Source, Counter – Strike: Anthology and Counter- Strike on X box.
The plot of the game : The game is based on a team of counter terrorists against a team of terrorists in several rounds. And each round is won by either completing mission or elimination all members of opposite team. If you choose to be a counter terrorist, then your goal is to either kill all terrorists or stop them before detonating the bomb. And if you opt for terrorist, then aim aim to plant bomb and detonate it safely or eliminate all counter terrorists. The game can either be played by one player or multi player online connected through lan or internet server.
Game history: Counter strike was released first as half life modification hence also known as Half Life: Counter Strike. Since then, It became so popular and grown itself into a commercial mod and released its own version “Counter Strikeâ€.
The Counter Striker: Condition zero version was very popular and is still in demand by the gamers. The strategy making techniques you develop in this game is awesome. Your mind’s reaction time, it just becomes so good. Either you play the terrorists’ role or the other one; both are challenging and require a great skill to win. Just one mistake and you are out of the game…..dead.
The game is all about strategies. You need to plan a perfect kill, under different scenarios. Nights, days, in bunkers, offices, monuments, deserts, buildings anywhere you can think of. All you have to do is kill and win. Besides killing it also includes rescuing the hostages safely to a place in the same time you have to kill terrorists.
Weapons: The weapons you use during game play includes from latest to the oldest. Snipers of all kinds, shotguns, rifles, SMGs, Machine guns, explosives, revolvers, Silenced weapons and final but the most important knife. If you have ruined all your ammos on firing or planning for a silent kill, then the knife comes into play. It is the ultimate weapon you have. The rifles vary from low range to long range. All you need to do is fire on the button and bang…..enemy is down in a single fire. Explosives are very effective for group assassination, you have flash bangs, tear gas…
Gadgets: The gadgets you get are wonderful. Night vision goggle, high range binoculars, Tactical shield, helmet and bullet proof jacket…and much more.
Cheats: There are several hacks in this game, which makes it a bit easier to play, if noticed. These cheats are very helpful and resourceful.
- No Recoil – This is the best hack or you can say flaw. No recoil is shown by the guns after firing, which does occurs when we shoot from the gun and is proved by physics. No spread is used to make a players gun shoot straight along the x axis. i.e. the shooting area remains as it is after firing. And you can fire again and again at the same place without even adjusting your mouse.
- Wall hack – You can see through walls, what your enemy is doing and how many of them are there besides the wall. This can be done by altering the display driver.
- Speed hack – by sending false synchronization data to servers. You can increase your speed in the game than others, while playing online.
- Textual information about the enemy, such as, health, name, and distance, and also information about weapons lying around the map.

Controversy comes with popularity:
As the game grew popular , several controversies came into the way. One interesting case in April, 2007 when lawyer Jack Thompson claimed that perpetrator of Virginia Massacre was trained to kill in this game. He also claimed that the game provides you situations where you plan to kill without waiting an instant. You just don’t think anything……and….kill. Such comments are very common since the launch of such mission and deadly games. But should such games needs to be banned ? The quarrel continues…..and can never end. The games should be treated as a way to enjoy…..and gain as much as you can. It can have a good effect as well as adverse. But who cares, the gamer world is rocking since the launch of the first ping pong game and will do the same in future. Recently in Feb 2008, Northern Illinois University shooting scandal was claimed by the same lawyer, that it was executed in same counter strike style. The list is long but it never affected the popularity of the game.
