Hey .. can u plzz help. I am about to buy an EVDO card. but I dont know whom to ask for it. I mean at which cabin it will be available in BSNL Telephone exchange.
One more question… If the exchange is providing 3G enabled sim and connections then is is necessary that it is providing EVDO service too ?
@ Amit ..
Mate, you just need to contact the multimedia department for it. ! alll you need to doo is to fill a form regarding CDMA 1000x !! under the Tarang plan. Go to BSNL office, they will tell you everything regarding it. You just need to fill the form and pay the charges, and they will provide you your EVDO device, which you need to attach with your laptop. and u r done.
more over this is not with the sim option. It comes like a usb or PCMCIA slot type device
Hi there Sarang. I just called customer care and they don’t have a clue about this.
Can you post your speed stats, so that I can actually see what are the download and upload speeds?
They claim 90 Kbps download speed in Bhopal. What r u getting in Gwalior?
Hey there Kk !! The speed totally depends on the CDMA network u acquire!! If u r going to use in some open space , u’ll definetely get spped above 2 Mbps ! ,, and if u use under some closed room, thn it will still be around 512kbps! I nvr got download speed less thn 40kbps on my Evdo, and mostl i gt 120kbps+
!!
hey guys, i m also using a nic card, but i cudnt avail d roaming facility wen i went to a diff state.. although d place that i went to is d capital city nd there are already nic nd evdo customers there, so no chance of bsnl cdma network not being there.
Hello Arpita !! To avail the roaming facility, you need to submit an application in the bsnl office to switch ur plan to roaming plan, and after that your bill will get enhanced to Rs 650 per month !! and after tht u can avail the facility in outer states also ^_^
I m rajshree 4m bbsr.i wana all d information abt EVDO card.i cled customer care,bt they dnt hv any clue abt it.ok pls give me all d price n speed details of it.
Hi their Rajshree… Everyone knows , that the most disappointing service from BSNL is their customer support… Any wayZ… well, for your knowledge.. BSNL is providing 2 kinds of EVDO cards, USB type and PCMCIA type.. I myself is using the USB type EVDO card, which i bought for Rs 4274 (including tax) from BSNL, and now I am paying Rs 550 per month as monthly charges, on which I get unlimited downloading facility and speed upto 2.4 Mbps .. From last few weeks, BSNl had also started roaming facility over it, for which you need to pay Rs650/- per month to avail the roaming facility..
