About Microsoft Download Manager
The Microsoft Download Manager enables you to download files from the Internet in a more reliable and faster way than using a browser alone. Using the Download Manager makes it easier to download large files such as an application or multimedia files. The Download Manager has been specifically designed to manage file downloads from supporting Microsoft Web sites in a secure and reliable way. Once started, the Download Manager displays an easy-to-use interface that shows the status of downloads and enables you to resume downloads if they have failed. The Microsoft Download Manager currently supports downloads from Web addresses starting with http://.
Features of the Microsoft Download Manager includes:
- Intuitive user interface which shows the status of downloads such as files, percentage complete, status and size.
- Able to pause the download of a file if needed and resume the download later.
- Able to change the number of automatic retries when downloading a file.
- Turning Microsoft Download Manager notifications on or off.
- Able to increase the number of connections the Download Manager makes to increase the speed at which a file is downloaded, up to a maximum of 16 connections.

Instructions
1. Download the Download Manager MSI from this page. A dialog box opens prompting for a location to save the installation file (MSDownloadManager.msi).
2. Save the installation file (for example to your desktop), and wait for it to download completely.
3. Locate the downloaded MSDownloadManager.msi file and double-click the file. If prompted, click Run. You may be prompted to close open browser windows to continue with the installation.
4. The Microsoft Download Manager Setup Wizard opens. Follow the steps in the wizard to install the Download Manager.
